Repairing commercial kitchen cabinets at Bend's assisted living Awbrey House.
Damaged cabinets; to due age, heat, moisture, grease, harsh cleaning chemicals, rough handling, accidents, collisions, plumbing leaks, spillage, lack of maintenance, improper cleaning and lack of cleaning. This resulted in a 70% edge tape failure on body parts, doors and drawer fronts. Drawer box failure rate was 100% due to improper construction method at the original date of manufacture.
Action taken; Partial rebuild of two cabinets, two new cabinets, four new doors, two new drawer fronts, twenty seven new drawer boxes, twelve new sets of drawer guides. 200 feet of new edge tape applied on site, hundreds of feet of original edge tape re-tacked (glued) on all discovered loose tape. Substantial touch-up with grey and white Seamfil. More than two weeks labor to complete.
